Longwood Soccer (LYSA Soccer)
is a non-for-profit organization; that falls under the umbrella of the Longwood Youth Sports Association (LYSA). We are committed to providing a superior inclusive soccer experience for all of our area’s youth by offering both recreational soccer and highly competitive travel team opportunities. This commitment is accomplished through an organization of volunteers and soccer professionals, who administer the training programs.
It is our intent as an organization to promote and honor integrity, teamwork, perseverance, confidence and sportsmanship both on and off the field.
Our home fields are located within the Longwood School District.
Our In-House teams play on Sundays at the Longwood Middle School.
This program begins with our Pee-Wee division at age 3 and continues into division F (U11).
Our Interleague program begins with pre-travel divisions (U8) and (U9) and continues through U19. These teams play either on Saturday or Sunday (depending on their age group) at either the Longwood Middle School or Charles E Walters Elementary School. Longwood Travel Soccer teams also play at either Charles E Walters Elementary school or the Longwood Middle School on either Saturdays or Sundays depending on their age groups. Travel soccer begins at U10.
Each year Longwood Soccer, with cooperation and dedication from the Mastic Sports Club, help each other produce the best summer soccer tournament on Long Island- The East End Soccer Tournament! This tournament is held at the William Floyd School fields, where over 170 soccer teams participate annually. This is a travel team tournament open to both boys and girls in the U9 pre-travel and U10- U17 travel age groups. All tournament proceeds go toward college scholarships for graduating seniors in our school districts.
To date this tournament has given out approximately $300,000 to graduating seniors heading towards college. These scholarships are in memory of the founding father of LYSA; Bruce Dickter. This year the Scholarship Committee expects to give out approximately $16,000 in scholarships.
