LONGWOOD LIONESS
Longwood Lionesses GU12 Travel Team
The Longwood Lioness players have been working VERY hard since December 2009. They trained indoor with a trainer once a week and entered two teams in the LI Futsal league for the winter. The girls traveled to tournaments in Brentwood and Rochester, NY during the winter as well. All of the hard work and dedication that both players and families put in over the winter really paid off this spring as they closed the season with a 6-2-2 record. We recently traveled to Avon, Ct for a weekend Memorial Day Tournament. Although the outcome was not what we would have liked there were huge positives that came out of playing the 5 games. The girls worked together as a team, always kept their heads held high, never gave up, supported each other with positive words and encouragement. We should all be proud to know that we sent girls with such character and tenacity to represent the Longwood community at this soccer tournament. Not only did the coaches and families of the Longwood Lionesses recognize the character of these girls but so did the tournament committee as the team was awarded with the Sportsmanship Award in their age group. We are all so proud of the Longwood Lionesses which consist of the following players: Kaila B, Katelyn B, Tyler B, Nancy Anne S, Jewel M, Cassandra K, Michelle S, Jaclyn J, Sibel K, Madyson L, Janie O, Lauren R, Victoria R, Kera S, Korin S, Ripley S and Ariel Z. The Twisters have been together for 4 years and consist of a great group of girls (and families) who enjoy being together both on and off the field. The girls spent their first year playing pre-travel (GU9) in Suffolk Soccer and playing in both indoor and outdoor tournaments throughout the year. They are a competive team who will be playing in Division 4 in LIJSL this fall.
The girls enjoy playing in both in-state and out of state tournaments throughout the year and during the summer have competed in both the East End and Oceanside Labor Day tournaments. The Twisters also had a blast playing evening games this summer in the 100% Summer Soccer League.
The Twisters train and play 11 months out of the year, training 2 times each week. We currently have 16 girls on our roster and we will be looking to add new players at the end of the spring season. Please check back in late April for information regarding tryouts for the Twisters summer/fall roster. The Cyclones Girls U14 travel team is really fired up for the fall The girls had a solid sprng season and we are psyched to play in Division 3. U14 is a challenging time for travel soccer players, all of our girls continue to represent their schools and communities in a wide variety of activities, from the classroom to the playing arena and they all continue to excel! It’s a period of life when time is of the essence and the Cyclones make the most of it.

The Lady Pumas have been busy all summer. The majority of the girls played in a Brookhaven Summer League under the Longwood high school varsity Coach Austin. The team finished in first place. CONGRATULATIONS! Also, the entire Lady Pumas team will be playing junior varsity soccer this fall. Good luck this fall, both in LIJSL and High School. It is hard to believe, but the team is starting their 6th year together. GO LADY PUMAS!!
LONGWOOD WILDCATS
GU17 Travel- Longwood Wildcats

The Longwood Wildcats are a girls U16 travel team. Most of the team have played together for eight years. Coach Steve has been coaching for LYSA for 10 years. The Wildcats were both Division and Sportsmanship Champions last spring and will now be competing in Division 4.
