ATTN A & B DIV COACHES
Updated: 09/12/2008 at 9:56 AM
TO: All “A” and “B” Division Coaches
FROM: Jim Bustamante
-Asst. Director of Coaches
There seems to be a little controversy regarding coaches being on the field during the game. I would like to correct the problem so there will be no more misunderstandings.
At the Coaches’ Clinic I did tell you that the coach of the team is allowed to be on the field during the play of game, what I want to make clear is where and what the coaches should be doing on the field.
1. You help position the kids for the start of play (I.E.: kick off, kick-ins & throw-ins).
2. You are close to the kids to give direction.
**At no time should you be running up and down the field with the players . Players' safety comes first! Pick one spot and stay in that position.**
“A” Coaches are to stay on your defending half.
“B” coaches should be behind the 1/3 line.
There should not be any parents on the field.
If there is no Coach or Asst. Coach, please notify me or Mike Roamer (Referee Coordinator; referees@longwoodsoccer.org) prior to game day and tell us who will be coaching the team that day.
As always, please contact me directly with any of your questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Jim Bustamante
