The LYSA soccer program has experienced a number of problems, the most significant being a dramatic decline in registrations. The soccer commissioner has decided not to run for another term. This is a nominating month at the Board of Directors and there were no nominations for soccer commissioner. As a result, the LYSA Board of Directors have voted to appoint LYSA Vice President, Ron Gangitano as Interim Commissioner of Soccer. Ron Gangitano has been involved in the soccer program for sixteen years in numerous capacities, the most recent as Director of Coaching for ten years. Ron is an experienced administrator, in the soccer program, at the LYSA executive level, as an independant businessman and has held leadership positions in the corporate community. His goal in soccer is to find solutions to the problems through the people that run the program. The soccer commission is made up of dynamic, intelligent and inovative individuals. With their help and advice, he hopes that solutions will be found and soccer will again be strong and progressive. Once the program is back on its feet, he feels that someone will come forward and he can turn the reins over to them. We ask that everyone give him all the support and cooperation that he will need.
